First part of the tour is walking tour around the sights in the top center of the Sofia. You will see: The Parliament with monument of the King Liberator – Alexander II on a horse infront of it, The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral – the biggest cathedral in Bulgaria, The Saint Sofia Church – the second oldest church in Sofia dating back to the 6th century, The Russian Church in Sofia with five golden domes, The Ivan Vazov National Theatre – which has beautiful Neoclassical building, National Art Gallery /Former Sofia Palace – built shortly after Bulgaria’s proclamation of independence from the Ottoman Empire/ and other nearby landmarks that will charm you – Institute of Archaeology & Museum, it occupies the building of the largest and oldest former Ottoman mosque in the city, The Buyuk (Grand), The Presidency Building, The Rotunda of St. George.
Walking tour continues with а visit to Central Sofia Market Hall – covered market in the centre of Sofia with unique facade with Neo-Renaissance architecture, featuring also elements of Neo-Byzantine architecture and Neo-Baroque. Nearby are located Mineral water of Sofia, where you can taste the water, the beautiful Banya Bashi Mosque built in 1566 by the great Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan and the former Sofia Public Mineral Baths which host the Museum of Sofia. From there you can walk along the first walking street in Sofia - Vitosha boulevard with lots of shops, restaurants, gelaterias and vendors and will reach National Palace of culture.
The tour continues with car to the Boyana Church to gaze at the fascinating pre-Renaissance frescoes that decorate the walls within. After that you can visit the National History museum which contains more than 650,000 exhibits and is one of the largest history museums on the Balkans.
